Family Christian Center and What We Believe
We believe:
In one God, the creator of all things, eternal, infinite, perfect, and
manifested in three persons as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 1:1-3;
Isaiah 44:6-8; Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4)
That the Bible, in its entirety, is the inspired Word of God and the only
infallible rule of faith and conduct. (2Timothy 3:15-17)
That the Son of God, Jesus Christ, became incarnate, was begotten by the Holy
Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man. (Isaiah 7:14;
Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 9:6)
In His sinless life, His miraculous ministry, His substitutionary death on the
cross as atonement for our sins, His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His
ascension into heaven to serve as our intercessor before the Father. (John 1:14;
Hebrews 7:25, 26)
In salvation only through the blood of Jesus. All men haven fallen short of the
glory of God and man's salvation comes by believing in Him. (Romans 3:23, Romans
10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8, 1John 1:7-9)
In the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from
God, promised by Christ to all believers, distinct from and subsequent to the
New Birth, and that the speaking with tongues is the initial physical evidence
accompanied with the fruit of the Spirit. (Acts 2:38, 39; Acts 1:4-8; Acts
15:8,9; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6; Galatians 5:22-23)
In sanctification by the blood of Christ, in personal holiness of heart and
life, and should be earnestly pursued by living in obedience to God's word.
(Romans 12:1-2; Romans 8:3-4; Hebrews 12:14-16; 1John 2:6)
In water baptism by immersion and the remembrance of Christ through communion.
(Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-5; 1Corinthians 11:24-29)
In divine healing and prayer for the sick. Deliverance from sickness was
provided in the atonement. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-18; John 5:14; James
5:14-15)
In the blessed hope and return of Christ. The resurrection of those who have
fallen asleep together with those who are alive and remain, in the imminent and
blessed hope of the church. (1Thessalonians 4:16; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13;
1Corinthians 15:51-52)
